Responsible for the regulation of radio communications in Australia.

ACMA is the Australian Communications and Media Authority which is responsible for the regulation and allocation of spectrum bandwidth, which includes all radio, TV and satellite communications in Australia. This involves allocating licences for the use of bandwidth where that is required (eg HF radio). ACMA also deals with complaints relating to the misuse, criminal and otherwise, of this spectrum and also with the Internet.

ACMA allocates licences for commercial radio and television broadcasting and deals with complaints against these organisations. Closer to home ACMA also deals with complaints about the misuse of telephones and operates the do-not-call register.

Contact ACMA to inquire about radio callsigns and licences to operate HF radio.
