What We Do

Tas Maritime Radio provides safety communication services to mariners throughout Tasmania and is the only official Coast Radio Service in the state.

 

These services routinely include:

	… providing a listening watch on VHF and HF distress and calling channels;
	… providing routine skeds over VHF and HF frequencies;
	… providing coastal waters forecasts at sked times or on demand;
	… providing Notices to Mariners and maritime safety information;
	… logging vessel movements;
	… providing automated weather broadcast for southeastern Tasmania;
	… providing rescue coordination.

 

This network is made possible through the support of an dedicated crew of volunteers and the generosity and vision of those who support us. In particular we could not have extended our service to statewide VHF coverage without the ongoing support of Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) and Tas Networks.
